Abstract

1. The Nakanotani Pass and its vicinity are in "the Meiji tectonic belt" of Fujii (1954) which consists of the Lower to Middle Permian rocks. In this paper the Permian rocks of this area are divided by lithology into three parts, A, B, and C in ascending order. / 2. The Permian rocks display zonal arrangement and are cut by several thrusts trending parallel or subparallel to the strike. Moreover, they are also intersected by two dip faults, one of which is clearly thrust, and the other is perhaps of the same nature.
