Abstract

As of April 2020, 114 pesticides are included in a category referred to as "Complementary Items to Set the Target for Water Quality Management". Dichloromethane is used for the solid phase extraction process followed by GC/MS measurement in the standard method 5 and 5-2 to monitor these pesticide concentrations. However, it is well known that dichloromethane has potential health and environmental risks. Thus, the extraction solvent was changed to a mixture ratio of hexane and acetone of 90:10, and a solidphase extraction method was studied for 63 pesticides to evaluate the validity of the measurement method. As a result, it was confirmed that 58 pesticides could be measured without significantly changing the conventional solid phase extraction procedure, and a health and environmentally friendly analytical method was established.
