表題の著書について,その構成と展開を示した後,その主題を,「上昇と下降」,「魂と肉体」,「知性と感情」,「我と没我」といった観点から考察し,最終的にそれが(A〓Ā)=Aの世界に収まることを明らかにして,その意義を論じた。

This paper aimed at clarifying the theme of“Flowers for Algernon"written by Daniel Keyes. After an outline of the novel was given, the theme was examined from such viewpoints as`ascent vs. descent',`spirit vs. body',`intellect vs. emotion'and`ego vs. effaced ego'. As a result, the theme came into a world of“(A⇔Ā)=A", and the meaning of it was explained.
