Abstract

The signal averaging has been conventionally utilized for estimating synchronous signals in noise. In low S/N condition, the number of averaging has to be very large where signal non-stationarity or signal jitter may cause deterioration of estimated signals in practical applications. This paper proposes to utilize adaptive signal emphasis technique together with conventional signal averaging technique to improve the S/N of estimated signals. Bi-directional prediction filter has been adopted for the signal enhancer. Computer simulation demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed methed.
