Description

<p>This work is a portable, deformable, and versatile space divider consisting of a convex measuring tape and designed attachments, named “Linecraft.” It is developed as a research product to explore applications of shape-changing interfaces to spatial design. It helps people free themselves from the complex systems and allows them to play with research products to generate ideas of ideal spaces that meet their needs and living environments in generative and experimental ways. In this paper, we will describe the development background, design process, and usage of Linecraft, then discuss the prospects of the research product that connects the “laboratory” where Linecraft was developed and the “everyday space” where it is used.<br> </p>
