Description
In present society, which is facing various social issues, the need for “comprehensive knowledge” through the fusion of different disciplines is increasing. Graduate school education is changing due to the social needs. This paper focused on the course "Outreach 2" of the KIKAN Education for Graduate Schools in 2019 and 2020. In particular, we reported the course design that aims to promote relativization of discipline. Furthermore, students' learning was analyzed through their outreach performances and essays. The scores of outreach performances and essays suggested that this course promoted students’ relativization of discipline. In addition, qualitative analysis of students’ essays revealed eight students' learning gains: “Avoidance of technical term usage”, “Demonstration of background and motivation”, “Arousal of audiences’ interest”, “Imagination for the audience”, “Knowledge retention as an expert”, “Ingenuity of communication method”, “Consideration for the slide design” and "Quantitative adjustment of contents".
