Abstract

<p>Although the scope of local materials is wide, public relations magazines issued by local governments are published by almost all municipalities in Japan．It can be considered one of the important sources of local history. The author has clarified the current status of digitization and openness of PR magazines through surveys of municipal websites, library OPACs, and WARP of the National Diet Library, among others. In this study, individual departments in charge of local governments were surveyed about their thoughts on the digitization and openness of their PR magazines. It was revealed that the concept of digitization and openness of PR magazines varied greatly among municipalities.</p>
