タイの医療保健制度を,特にプライマリーヘルスケアに焦点を当てて分析を加えた。その結果,タイの保健医療制度は企業的システムに分類され,医療施設や医療従事者ともに日本と比較すると十分ではないが,プライマリーヘルスケアではヘルスセンターを中心とした全国組織があり,乳児死亡率や平均寿命などの指標を参考にすると,タイのプライマリーヘルスケアは一定の成功を収めていると考えられる。また,疾病構造は,経済発展に伴ってここ30年間で大きく変化し,感染症や栄養障害が減り,生活習慣病と事故が多くなっている。このことは,タイにおいてはプライマリーヘルスケアは依然として重要であるものの,疾病構造が感染症中心から慢性疾患中心へと転換しつつある現状を踏えると,今後,医療保障制度が整備され,現在ある医療保障制度間較差が是正されてゆく必要があると思われる。

Health care system in Thailand with special reference to primary health care system was analysed. The results indicated that Thai's health care system is classified into entrepreneurial system and the health resourse (hospitals and health professionals) is not enough. But the primary health care system is relatively well organized and the primary health care has been successful when we see the decrease of babies death ratio and the prolongation of the life expectancy. The kind of the disease for death has been changed after the economical development. That is, the infectious diseases or the malnutrition has been decreased and in contrast the life-style disease or accidents have been increased. These situations suggest that medical insurance system must be better organized and must be modified the differences among the types of medical insurance systems in the near future.
