Abstract

Individuals who consume common resources necessary for growth, survival and reproduction must cause negative effects to each other, called competitions. In the realms of ecology and evolutionary biology, competitions are considered to be the most important process that has formed the current biological world and a key to understanding the life. In evolutionary biology, competitions among various genotypes cause natural selection and sexual selection. The natural selection brings adaptive morphology, physiology and behavior. In contrast, the sexual selection, leads to an evolution of male’s exaggerated ornaments. This paper describes such processes and the evolution at the level of cells-namely carcinogenesis.
