Abstract

The job demands-resources model has been attracting attention in recent years as an explanation of the relationship between mental health and work engagement, which are essential for wellbeing, and job resources. This paper describes this model and introduces job crafting, which creates a “gain cycle” that increases work engagement, with examples and checklists. Furthermore, the impact of changes in the work environment on mental health in the Corona Disaster, recent trends in Stress Check Systems, and ways to increase job resources in the workplace level will be discussed with examples. Finally, self-care to prevent falling into the “loss cycle,” which increases stress reactions, will be discussed.
