Description

Numerous Confucian tombs were constructed during Edo period Japan, based on Zhuxi’s Jia-li of Nansong China. However, scant research exists on this subject. This paper will continue the exploration elucidated in a previous article, utilizing field surveys and a review of the literature to reveal the grave systems and their characteristics. In so doing, the paper will illuminate the ideological investigations of Confucianism in Japan.
