Abstract

<p>Uncertainty analysis method for planar frame structure models with damped oil dampers with nonlinear force-velocity relationships is developed. A structural analysis software SNAP® (Kozo system) is collaborated with NURP method to evaluate the maximum value of the frame structure response when the damper characteristics are varied. Response analysis with critical double impulse is collaborated with structural analysis software to account for uncertainties in the input ground motion. The validity of the proposed method is investigated by comparing the result with maximum response derived by genetic algorithms.</p>
