<p>Currently, lots of biomass fuel used in thermal power generation is increasing, biomass fuel has advantages of recycle, carbon neutral and large reserves, etc. But the biomass combustion ash may contain harmful metals such as hexavalent chromium. Therefore, in this study, we used ICP-AES (Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy) to measure the content of chromium in combustion ash collected from an electrically heated drop-tube furnace, and then we used thermodynamic software Factsage to simulate the equilibrium state of the combustion ash. Through the comparison of experimental and simulation results, we can observe changes of hexavalent chromium under different conditions, this can help to find out the method to inhibit the formation of hexavalent chromium.</p>
