Abstract

In July 2015, a team consisting of Acute Care Surgeon (ACS team) started activities at our hospital. We introduce our efforts for ACS team building. First, we constructed a system in which all emergency surgical diseases are gathered in Acute Care Surgeon. Actively interacted with surgeons in other fields and built relationships of mutual cooperation. We prepared an environment to start surgery immediately and built a team that Acute Care Surgeon can always perform surgical treatment. We have focused on academic activities and education and have made efforts to get people to understand our work. ACS is a new area, and there are many issues to be considered in the future, such as the development of Acute Care Surgeon and the content of their work. These vary and change depending on the region, facility, and time. However, in order to build the strongest ACS team, it is important to consider what kind of system should be constructed to maintain the team and keep the members growing as surgeons.
