Description

In this study, 121 healthy young individuals underwent a test for measuring subjective face recognition in daily life (The 20-item prosopagnosia index, PI20), and tests for objective face recognition: Visual Perception Test for Agnosia Famous Face Test (VPTA-FFT ver. 2) and Cambridge face memory test (CFMT), and correlations among the results of these tests were evaluated. Correlations were found between VPTA-FFT ver. 2 and CFMT results, between VPTA-FFT ver. 2 and PI20 results, and between CFMT and PI20 results. Meanwhile, the results of the three tests were not always abnormal in patients suspected to have developmental prosopagnosia (DP), suggesting the effects of the different criteria set for individual tests on DP detection. According to these findings, the combined use of PI20 with either VPTA-FFT ver. 2 or CFMT may be conducive to more accurate detection of DP.
