Description

This study aimed to discuss the teaching materials focused on the relationship with nature and respect to life. Almost all practices were planned to deliver teaching materials for infants. These teaching materials were focused on the following ten objects: “light,” “leaf,” “sky,” “water,” “star,” “wind,” “branch,” “stone,” “shadow,” and “cloud.” Qualitative analysis of development and practices regarding these teaching materials, revealed three important characteristics: “understanding characteristics of objects through direct contact,” “showing some thought patterns such as comparing and associating,” and “high contingency lead to being moved to find out and to explore deeply.” Relationships among three characteristics, course for study in kindergarten, and motivation for challenging tasks(play, work)were also discussed.
