Following the previous report, this paper presents the results of our series of investigation. The number of subjects who considered themselves, by self-evaluation, as having a high level of health amounted to a significantly lower percentage in the group which habitually skipped over meals than the group which seldom did so, regardless of age or sex of the subjects. Basic customs in daily life such as exercise, rest or sleep and hand-washing or gargling constituted their major attitude to preservation of health. However, considerable discrepancies were noted for some of the items between their actual health-preservation behavior and consciousness. In 1 of every 3 subjects, physical and mental equivocal complaints liable to develop in daily life were mostly related to the feeling of fatigue. Physical or mental disorders were complained more frequently by female students in high schools and by male students in colleges. This seems to be associated closely with sexual differences in mental fields manifested during the stage of puberty in high-school students and with an irregular life style in male college students. In questionnaire on health problems in adults, an extremely low rate of correct answers was obtained to the question as to the relationship between the concentration of blood cholesterol and cerebral apoplexy. This is a perfect example to show that a knowledge that had hitherto been erroneously believed to be true was transformed into a fixed concept. It was also found that subjects always in closer contact with health information tended to have a higher level of understanding on health.
