Abstract
<p>The sculpting is a process of thinking through materials, or intellectual inquiry, in which a concept is devised through the hands and fingers that handle the clay work. From that standpoint, this paper focuses on the thought of project oneself into the material from the perspective of the sculptor. Then, this paper will consider the meaning of conveying the thinking and sensation to others based on report and analysis of workshop. The appearance of the children at the workshop centered on the appreciation activity of touching the sculpture suggested the following. To convey the thoughts and feelings of the creator, it is necessary to have a method and words to inspire the “To comprehend” that the viewer is physically convinced based on his own experience and feelings. It is different from the way we “understand” things as words. And searching for words to convey to others in the place of co-activation between the creator and the viewer, it has the meaning of consciously re-questioning thinking and sensation that not only the viewer but also the creator himself is not aware of.</p>
