The influence of the Chinese translation of Aesop's fables is not limited to China. In fact, the engraved version of Yi Shi Yu Yan which called "Yi Suo Pu Yu Yan" was later spread to Japan after several rounds, and had a profound influence on the later Chinese translations of Aesop's Fables in Japan. As far as I am concented, the current Chinese translations of Aesop's fables in Japan mainly include ISuPuTan in Chinese and Critical Chinese translation of Aesop's Fables. In addition, during the Meiji period, Takanori Nakata translated Beijing Mandarin Aesop's Fables. Such translations all had a certain influence in Japan at that time. This article will take Critical Chinese translation of Aesop's Fables as an example to examine its original version and its content characteristics while trying to explore its development and influence in Japan. The research on the Japanese translation of Aesop's fables will help us understand the complete history of the Chinese translation of Aesop's fables.
