Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to clarify members’ needs regarding the future of Japan Academy of Occupational Nursing. Methods: The study used the Delphi technique. Two web surveys were conducted from September to November 2022, targeting 363 Japanese Academy of Occupational Health Nursing members. The survey items included demographic variables, draft items regarding the Japan Academy of Occupational Health Nursing’s ideal state, and expectations for the society’s future (other than the draft items). Results: One hundred and twenty participants responded to the first survey (response rate 33.1%), and 98 participants responded to the second survey. Based on the responses, [provision of information and education for members] [promotion of occupational health nursing science] [interaction and consultation among members] [collaboration with related academic societies and organizations in Japan and overseas] [communication with society] [management of the society] were adopted. Discussion: Some areas were similar to those the related academic societies proposed. However, results identified distinct areas related to member interaction and consultation. Conclusion: The study identified 17 items in 6 needs areas. Members, especially the Board of Directors, should consider measures based on the items.
