Abstract

This paper is the report of the investigation of the houses in Sagaki district, Mihama town, Fukui prefecture. I make clear the main points as following. The houses of Sagaki generally have been the roof style which is called Kirizumazukuri since the late Edo period. Another roof style called Irimoyazukuri appeared after 1955 (the thirties of Showa era). The front style was became deluxe adding the gable on the front roof and the protruded door after 1965 (the forties of Showa era).
