説明

The purpose of this study was to examine the issues related to “physical fitness” in junior high schools and high schools based on previous studies on this area, and to examine what university students in physical education (PE) teacher training courses should learn regarding “physical fitness”. A search was conducted on CiNii Articles (a Japanese article database) and 27 previous studies were selected for analysis. From these studies, issues related to “physical fitness” in junior high schools and high schools were extracted and analyzed using part of the KJ method. As a result, the following two points were suggested: (1) It is important to study the characteristics of “physical fitness” in the PE teacher training course because it was found that many teachers lacked an adequate understanding of the characteristics of this area. (2) It was indicated that having students study appropriate teaching materials and conduct micro-teaching in the “physical fitness” class in the PE teacher training course will help them become more competent teachers.
