Description
In urban traffic management and planning, an important problem is estimating an origin destination matrix. we have developed some models which estimate an O-D matrix from traffic counts. In this paper, we present a model to estimate an O-D matrix consistent with the link volumes by method of maximum likelihood. The model assume knowledge of the paths followed by the vehicles over the network. The model use any prior information about the trip matrix, that is, a previous O-D matrix. The model have been tested with artificial data and performed reasonably well.
