Description

The purpose of this study is to review the interventions focused on help-seeking and measures on help-seeking in order to indicate future issues. In 217 studies published between 2000 and 2020, 36 articles (40 studies) that met the eligibility criteria were selected. The research design, characteristics of the intervention target population, interventions, and measurements were reviewed. As a result, almost all studies aimed to facilitate help-seeking, but few studies targeted excessive help-seeking and nonfunctional help-seeking. Furthermore, the measurement of effect was classifıed as help-seeking attitude, cognition (expectation and resistance), intention/willingness, the amount of behavior, and behavior quality were examined. As a result, it was concluded that it is necessary to create a new scale with not only reliability and validity, but also responsiveness.
