Abstract
This paper introduces a secure optical data communication using Y-00 quantum noise randomized stream cipher, which utilizes multi-level signals and quantum noise to achieve security. After explaining the principle of the Y-00 cipher, we introduce a method to increase the masking effect to improve security. The randomness of cipher signals is enhanced by deliberate signal randomization driven by true random numbers generated from quantum noise increasing. Finally, we present Y-00 cipher communication system experiments using a real-time Y-00 cipher transceiver and digital coherent receiver technique.
