Abstract
<p>Human body images called "Neijing-tu" were preserved in various fields of printing from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. Through exploring the origin, background of printing culture and characteristics of paper surface of ancient, printed objects, we were able to identify the following points: The "Neijing-tu" are mainly preserved in Taoist books, medical books, encyclopedias, and other fields printings. This paper discusses the visual communication design characteristics of "Neijing-tu" through analyzing the changes of layout and image elements, centering on "Neijing-tu" in existing printing materials.</p>
