<p> Pseudoainhum is an artificial strangulation in the extremities, neck, or penis, which may be induced by foreign bodies such as wires or cords. The disease is characterized by circumference-related skin ulcers. Suspecting the presence of foreign bodies at an early stage and detecting and removing them are important. This report describes a case of pseudoainhum that was caused by a rubber band in a 90-year-old woman. The patient applied rubber bands to her body and although they were removed immediately, a rubber band remained around the right ankle as revealed by contrast-enhanced computed tomography. This reaffirms the importance of careful searching for foreign bodies.</p>
