Abstract

<p>This study proposes a new method for estimating tree diameter at breast height (DBH) using 3D point cloud data for sustainable forest resource management. The research focuses on forest resource management in Japan, and a circle fitting program using the RANSAC algorithm has been developed to tolerate outliers and improve accuracy. However, improving automation is considered a future challenge.</p>
