Description
The employment rate published by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) uses the number of job applicants as the denominator and the number of job seekers as the numerator. This survey combines data from universities, junior colleges, and technical colleges. Employment rates restricted to university students are unknown. In addition, although the target population includes students with developmental disorders (with physicianʼ s diagnosis), students with developmental disorders (without physicianʼs diagnosis but accommodations provided) are not included in the target population. This study proposed an indicator for the “employment rate” of university students with developmental disorders by referring to previous studies that have calculated the “employment rate” and other indicators other than the “ratio of employed persons to graduates” using the School Basic Survey. As a result, this study clarified the following two points. First, the employment rate of university students with developmental disorders has increased from 2011 to 2020, around 60% in recent years. Second, the employment rate tended to be slightly higher for students with developmental disorders (without physicianʼs diagnosis but accommodations provided) than for those with developmental disorders (with physicianʼs diagnosis).
