Previous studies have examined pair-work with the use of active learning methods in lecture-style classrooms and have shown that students with a high autism spectrum disorder index (AQ) tend to experience an impact on their self-esteem in the event of positive feedback from others. For this reason, we created the mobile phone application Let’s Blossom in Conversation to allow faculty members to support discussion activities between students in class and established the function of exchanging positive feedback between students following discussion. In addition, discussion actions were visualized, structured, and implemented in an orderly manner. To verify the effectiveness of Let’s Blossom in Conversation, we compared changes in selfconcept, self-esteem, and communication skills before and after group discussions with reference to whether the App was used. A significant positive correlation was found between AQ and the amount of ambitious change that was seen in self-concept in the group that used the application. On the other hand, regarding communication skills, the group that used the application tended to be significantly higher in terms of the assertiveness factor alone.
