抄録

<p>The discussions of the design of reinforced concrete buildings reached a peak in the mid-1910s, mainly featured with the conceptions of new structural forms like as a single entity and rigid frame together with various manners of architectural treatment, but rapidly declined with no consensus reached. Structural form and architectural treatment were still two coexisting realms, between which the momentum of detachment loomed in the new structural forms of RC. However, the detachment and the new conceptions were limited by the scarcity of actual instances, stereotypes of Japan and the US, and certain conventional values.</p>
