- Study on Vibration Isolation System Using Cu-Al-Mn Shape Memory Alloy

<p>In the previous study, we have proposed a vibration isolator using post-buckled Ti-Ni based shape memory alloy as a compact and simple vibration isolator. However, the dynamic properties of Ti-Ni based shape memory alloy exhibit temperature dependency and it requires temperature control to control negative tangent stiffness, which was a problem for their extensive application. In contrast, the dynamic properties of Cu-Al-Mn based shape memory alloy are insensitive to temperature. From that perspective, Cu-Al-Mn based shape memory alloy superior to Ti-Ni based alloy for wide range application. In this report, the vibration isolation performance of an isolator using post-buckled Cu-Al-Mn based shape memory alloy is investigated.</p>
