With time, the number of people who have opportunities to study their favorite and practical field to fill their needs and motivation toward their meaningful lives. The Japanese government has recognized the importance and the necessity of interdisciplinary research programs such as gerontology at the open lectures in community as well as college and graduate levels. The results show that participants have interests in studying the meaning of life, the real aging process, and death education through discussion at the gerontology class. Although it is important to study the aging field as a knowledge, the participants think that it is more useful and important to share and deepen their ideas and experiences to put their thoughts together. Education on the real aging process and the elderly should be introduced to reduce ageism and prejudice to old generation as well as to make our lives meaningful.
