Abstract
<p>In this study, we proposed a selection model for an onshore wind power promotion area option based on the requirements of an existing governmental manual and the latest revision in Japanese Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures. A web-GIS platform, k.LAB, in combination with AI techniques, was employed and enabled us to create multifunctional models. As a result, we succeeded in developing a model that contains around two-thirds of the information required by the governmental manual and the act for establishing wind power promotion area. Furthermore, we can easily customize parameters used according to the requirements of municipalities and update the parameters in response to the policy changes. The model will contribute to selecting an appropriate potential area for an onshore wind power promotion.</p>
