<p>This paper presents an exact three-dimensional elasticity analysis of out-of-plane free vibration of simply-supported homogeneous, isotropic, rectangular plates on elastic foundations. An exact analysis is based on the three-dimensional, linear, small-strain theory of elasticity. The elastic foundation is described by the Winkler model. The fundamental out-of-plane free vibration characteristics of square plates resting on elastic foundations have been studied in detail, with respect to different thickness-width ratios and non-dimensional foundation parameters. In addition, the present paper proposed an added stiffness coefficient to evaluate the effects of interaction between an elastic foundation and a lower surface of plate.</p>
