Description

In recent years, contactless power transfer technology has attracted attention as a new power transfer technology. However, there is a problem that the efficiency of contactless power transfer with coupled magnetic fields decreases due to misalignment and changes in distance. In this study, we experimentally investigate the shape of the coil on the transmission side that enables stable power transfer in all directions in the horizontal direction. Experimental investigations were conducted to determine whether stable power supply to the receiving side is possible even when the angle of the transmission coil changes by using a figure-of-eight or an eight-parallel spherical coil winding. The S-parameters were measured using a Vector Network Analyzer with two ports of the transmitter and receiver coils, and the angle variation characteristics of the transmission coil were investigated by converting the S-parameters to Z-parameters and calculating the theoretical maximum efficiency from the Z-parameters.
