Description

The purpose of this study was to clarify the psychological aspects of the impact of AI on HR op-erations as perceived by Japanese HR professionals. 824 participants were surveyed to obtain quantitative and qualitative data on their positive and negative attitudes toward the impact of AI on HR operations and their expectations for AI to replace or supplement HR operations. The analysis revealed that (1) the impact of AI on HR tasks was generally perceived positively, (2) direct com-plementary expectations existed for information processing and administrative tasks, and (3) indi-rect complementary expectations existed for interpersonal tasks, and (4) complementary expecta-tions had components and could be ordered and processed. The results also suggest that the unique pride of HR staff may be related to their negative attitude toward AI work substitution. These re-sults suggest that in the future, the use of AI as a complement for HR tasks that require atypical in-terpersonal skills will be promoted and activated.
