<p>This presentation reports the progress of the survey on the distribution of enclosed depressions in the Kanto Plain as the first step to elucidate the formation processes of these depressions. Extracted from contour lines on the old large-scale topographic maps, 543 depressions were identified. The depressions were distributed not only on the previously known plateau, but also in the central part of the Kanto plain from the Kashima Plateau to the Omiya Plateau. This result suggests that depressions are a common topographic feature on the terrace surfaces in the Kanto Plain.</p>
