Description
This study examines an explosive fragmentation model in the event of the explosive fragmentation of an artificial satellite. Explosive fragmentation experiments are being conducted in a simple vacuum chamber using a mock-up satellite containing CFRP plates and electronic components, and an aluminum box made of aluminum plates and an aluminum frame. The explosion source used is a PETN explosive, which allows energy estimation. The explosive fragmentation model is being examined using the results of measuring the dimensions of the fragments recovered after the explosive fragmentation, and the results of measuring the splashing velocity using high-speed photography. In this presentation, explosive fragmentation experiments were conducted on a mock-up satellite and an aluminum box by varying the position and mass of the explosion source, and the parallel and rotational velocities of the mock-up satellite body after the explosion were examined. In addition, the results of a comparison of the generated fragments with an explosion fragmentation model will be reported.
