In this article, I examined two unsettled issues concerning the text titled Jutsujō (述誠or述成) for the purpose of grasping ShōkU's (證空） method of educating and training (kyōke ikusei 教化育成) his own disciples. Specifically, I discussed the issues with respect to the title of the text, that is to say Jutsujō, and with respect to the sentences which are written at the end of the “first answer sentences” (daiichi tōmon 第一答文) in this text. In this article, I pointed out the following three things: first, Shōkū's method of educating and training the disciples focused on the relationship between a master and a disciple before anything else; second, Shōkū used “the oral transmission” (kuden no gi 口伝の義), when he educated and trained the disciples; third, these two things are regarded as the characteristics of Shōkū's method of educating and training the disciples.
