Description

Since urban renewal became a national strategy in 2020, Beijing has introduced many policies related to urban renewal and actively promoted urban renewal projects. Among these, housing renewal is one of the most important types, and over the past four years, there has been a substantial accumulation of research on the actual conditions of the living environment and maintenance methods in old residential areas. However, due to the diverse entities involved in housing renewal, the complex situations, and Beijing's unique positioning as the capital and an ancient city with a historical and cultural background, there are still inadequacies in the business structure, project implementation process, financial resources, and sustainable management. This paper aims to understand the latest trends in comprehensive maintenance projects by collecting and organizing policy information on the comprehensive maintenance of old residential areas in Beijing since 2020, laying a foundation for future case studies of project initiatives.
