Abstract
Continuous gravity observation with a superconducting gravimeter (SG) CT#039 was commenced on September 20, 1999 at Ny-Alesund, Norway (79° North). The present status of the obser vation is introduced. The analysis results for the short-period tides are discussed in relation to the accuracy of tidal prediction by a computer program ‘GOTIC2’. From the comparison among the three data sets the SG, the FG5 absolute gravimeter and the prediction, the prediction accuracy is estimated at a level of 2% for the total amplitude summing up the 16 short-period tidal waves, which are avail able in GOTIC2.
