Abstract

Within the visual field, the visual obstruction usually takes place in case which a transmissive screen between the eyes and the visual objects. When the inhomogeneous screen, such as screen mesh, texture and Venetian blind, as the materials for screen the phenomenon of cutting off the objects partially or the one producing a veiling is somtimes observed.
These phenomena are more complicatedly observed in both experimentally and theoretically in comparison with the phenomenon observed by the homogeneous screen.
The writer set up Randolt ring and screen material in the experimental room and measured the visual acuity of a subject on the relation between the surface of visual objects and that of screen on the illuminance or the luminance, on the relation between material wire and space area within the visual field, on the relation between the visual object at transfer and the visual object at rest, and on the relation of the distance between the eyes, screen and the visual object.
These above mentioned experiments had the result of confirming the existence of the glare effects by the inhomogeneous screen.
