Abstract
This study aims to obtain necessary data for applying Magnesium Line-photoengraving plate to the cutting die for carton boxes, synthetic resin seals, etc. First of all, a magnesium blade is made through the powderless etching process. The mechanism of this process was analyzed and it was confirmed that there occurs a reaction expressed in the formula 2. The heat of reaction reached as high as 150kcal/mol. Next, an experiment was conducted to see whether or not the hardness of magnesium blade is affected by heat. The result showed there is no effect of heat on the blade, as shown in Tables 1-4. Third, the magnesium blade was used to cut the Manila board. The result showed this does not work. Fourth, the hot punch cutting of the vinyl film was conducted experimentally. We obtained good results this time. In this case, heating is important in softening the vinyl material. Fifth, we obtained power in the form of the relationship between the punch cutting speed and the punch cutting load, and could obtain the most appropriate load for any cutting speed.
