Description
We developed a process for environmental assessment of waterless offset printing, an environmentally favorable technology. The authorized software PGG, developed by Dr. Hirokazu Shimizu and later upgraded to cloud-based, enables small- to medium-sized printers to easily calculate their CO2 emissions. We first addressed carbon offsets, and after the waterless printing Product Category Rule was authorized by the Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry and carbon footprint system authentication for our 13 group members was approved, we incorporated assessment of carbon footprints. Moreover, in future years, we will begin developing an environmental AR marker for further reinforcement of reliability and user-friendliness for promotional uses.
