Description
The trial made electrostatic printer introduced here is a unique nonimpact type printer developed by Hitachi for the purpose of high-speed printing of the output information of largesize electronic computers. Corona discharges of the very short high voltage pulse of relief type drum electrodes are utilized, and the printer is capable of printing processed data on insulated recording paper at an ultra-fast speed of 6,000 lines per minute. At the same time, various types of predetermined forms are printed in superposition on the data. The data are printed out in sheets. The printer starts and stops, and can cut the sheets and stack them in orderly piles. The main data concerning this printer are reported here in outline.
