Description
In order to stabilize image density in electrophotographic systems, it is important to control both toner concentration and charge distribution of toners on a developing roller. In the previous papers, a simulator was reported, which calculates toner concentration in a developer unit with one-dimensional convection-diffusion model. In adding to that simulator, this paper proposes a charging model which calculates charge of toners as a function of developer mixing intensity which would be affected by magnetic rollers and screws. This new simulator is able to calculate not only toner concentration but also charge distribution of toners in a developer unit. The calculation results show good agreement with experiments in various conditions.
