Abstract

A simple electrostatic capasitor model incorporated charge generating element (four capasitor model) is shown to have the characteristics in good agreement with the experimental values obtained by dual component development system. <BR> The charge generating element is characterized by a capasitor, which represents properties of releasing free charged toner particles in proportion to the quantity of the particles and to the residual field on the toner attracted photoreceptor layer. <BR> The equation derived from the model is expressed as below, <BR> Q=γε0(Vs/Vr)/(ds/Ks+dt/kt+dc/kcθ+dd/αθtckcM),  γ=1−exp(−tg/rgC).<BR> The difference between the theory and the experiments by monocomponent development is also discussed. <BR> All the experiments shown here have been performed by using a new charging method in which the charge is produced by the transport of water ions in applied field.
