抄録

Synthetic layer mineral, Li-Ge-TAENIOLITE, [LiMg2Li (Ge4O10) F2](abbreviated as LGT) can be obtained as larger crystals in comparison with Si4+ substituted analogue. Thus swelling and dehydration phenomona of LGT crystals can be clearly observed under polarization microscope. Marked expansion and contraction along c* direction of LGT crystals due to swelling and dehydration are shown and “bellows model” is proposed for such behaviours.
