Description

A new ionone derivative, nigakialcohol, was isolated from the leaves of Picrasma ailanthoides PLANCHON (Simaroubaceae), the structure being found to be (4R,5S)-4-[(R)-3-hydroxybutyl]-5-hydroxymethyl-3,3-dimethyl-1-cyclohexanone. Nigakilactones E, F, and H and vomifoliol were also isolated from the leaves.
